Full description

Stop: Weinladen Draiser Hof - Weingut Baron Knyphausen
Our wine adventure begins with a visit to Baron Knyphausen, a historic family winery in Eltville-Erbach, Rheingau, famous for its terroir-inspired Rieslings and elegant Pinot Noirs. The estate, a member of the prestigious VDP and completely organic since 2021, cultivates famous vineyards such as Marcobrunn and Hohenrain, creating wines that reflect centuries

traditions and painstaking care. Visitors can explore his legacy at the picturesque Dreiser Hof, which features a wine lounge, shop and restaurant.

While we are getting to know the winery, you will try up to 10 different wines: from simple wines to Auslese (wine selection), sometimes even Trockenbeerenauslese (wine selection), ice wine and even older wines. This gives you the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the diversity of our wines in a fun way.

Visit: Schloss Johannisberg
We will visit the magnificent Johannisberg Castle, perched above the Rhine in the Rheingau, believed to be the world's first estate dedicated to Riesling. Winemaking here dates back to 817, and the exclusive cultivation of Riesling began in 1720. The estate is located on a picturesque quartzite slope facing south. Approximately 50 hectares of land are steeply inclined at an angle of 45° and ideally sunlit along the 50th parallel, providing exceptional

aromatic complexity and precision.

We will enjoy a glass of wine on the wine terrace with a stunning view of the Rhine Valley.

Stop: Eltville am Rhein
Lunch at your own expense in a local cafe or restaurant (optional):

Enjoy a fresh lunch made with locally sourced ingredients or a tempting plate of cheese and deli meats. While you wait, you can sample wines from 80 of the Rhine's leading winemakers.

Stop: Eberbach Monastery
The Eberbach Monastery, located in the Rheingau near Eltville, is one of the best-preserved medieval monasteries in Europe and a landmark of German wine culture. Founded in 1136 by Cistercian monks, it became one of the largest wineries in Europe and played a key role in the development of viticulture along the Rhine. Currently, in historical cellars that continue to be used,

is the Hessische Staatsweingüter, producing famous Rieslings from the prestigious vineyards of the Rheingau. Besides wine, the Eberbach monastery is known for its Romanesque and Gothic architecture, cultural events and appearance in the film The Name of the Rose.
